Ginny Quinones Makes Stock Car Racing History!

Not only did this young and talented Latina driver win the USAC Northeast Ford Focus Series opener at Waterford Ct, she recently made history again by becoming the first Hispanic female to win a stock car race at Mahoning Speedway in Pennsylvania competing in the Late Model series. What makes it even more amazing is Ginny did so in only her sixth time behind the wheel! This is one determined driver who won’t take no for an answer. Breaking into a world of men and machine, women are not typically welcome to say the least. While being successful in one series is difficult enough. Being successful in two different series driving two different types of cars is usually reserved for racing's best drivers.

Short track stock car racing is some of the toughest, as well as most physical racing around. Even with the more experienced veteran male drivers applying the pressure throughout the race, Ginny stayed focused and got the job done despite a late race challenge to bring home the checkered flag. No driver wins without a lot of support, so thanks to all those who helped making this effort possible. Ginny is committed to continue her history making ways as she moves forward and upward in the world of stock car racing.
